20 week belly!

Here is my 20 week belly! This pg is going so fast. Not much new to update besides the stuff I already did. I lost a pound this week...you wouldn't know it by how I look! LOL I can't believe I'm halfway there already!

My dr. appt today

I saw my dr today and she is referring me to a high risk perintologist for a more advanced u/s. The u/s I had done earlier this week showed previa but they couldn't tell what degree or where it was attached. When I had a full bladder it was just a marginal previa, but when I had an empty bladder it was a complete previa. So I will be having an u/s and consultation with a high risk dr. I'm still seeing my regular OB for now...unless they find something and the high risk decides I'm better off with him.

My dr is also semi- concerned because I'm measuring so much smaller than what I should be. According to my LMP I'm due 2-14, but the first u/s (the one which I think was most accurate..it was right on with my O date) it's 2-18, where this last u/s is 2-24. She thinks it's possible that I may just be having a small baby, as I'm prone to them (Ryan was really small too). But she said the difference could indicate a problem and wants to check it out.

So my appt with the high risk is Tuesday. At least I get another u/s and can confirm gender!

Placenta Previa

After my u/s my dr called me up and told me they found a problem in the u/s. I have a condition called placenta previa...where the placenta is covering the cervix. I have complete previa...meaning it's covered completely. Not good. I have an appt with her tomorrow to discuss it in more detail, but so far I've been told no heavy lifting, no strenuous activity, no sex. I will have an u/s in about 3-4 weeks to see if it's moved (in about 90% of cases, it does move later on in pregnancy). If it doesn't move by 3rd tri....I may be put on bedrest...depending on conditions and such. I would also have to have a C-section at 38 weeks.

It's a lot to take in...and kinda scary. I will update more after my appt tomorrow.

It's a......

Well, I had my u/s yesterday....and it's a.........

BOY!!

I was completely shocked! I really thought it was going to be a girl! That just shows you that all those old wives tales are just that...tales!! LOL

I told dh that just means we will have to try again afterwards for a girl!! He wasn't too sure about that at the time!

Ryan seems happy he will be getting his little brother. He said he wants to teach the baby everything he knows, and wants the baby to grow up to be big so he can play with him. LOL

So not the little girl I had hoped for, but another little boy won't be that bad. I'm used to boys....the trucks and dinosaurs and loudness....and I know once I hold that baby in my arms for the first time it won't matter!

19 weeks

Sorry it's late again!! It's been a crazy week.

I'm doing great this week..physically! Feeling good and hungry! My appetite has increased tremendously this week, and my weight is starting to show it! I gained 2.5 pounds this week! YIKES! Though that only makes a total of 4.5 pounds for the whole pg so far, but still...I don't want to gain all my weight in one week! I'm trying to watch what I eat, but lately I've been craving all the things that aren't good for me (like chips, ice cream, donuts, candy, sweets). I need to eat more fruit and veggies!

I've been feeling the baby move a lot more recently. S/he seems to be the most active in the afternoon, at least for now. It's still the most amazing feeling....those little flutters and gentle kicks.

I need to buy more maternity clothes. It's getting colder out now and I only have 2 pairs of maternity pants (both black) and a handful of shirts. I need to go shopping for some winter clothes! I'm hoping to do that this weekend.

My big u/s is Monday!! Only 3 more days!!! I'm getting so excited! I can't wait to find out what we are having!

I'm almost halfway there now. It's going really fast.

18 weeks

I've been doing well this week...not too much to report. I've lost a pound this week....making my total of only 2 pounds of weight gain so far. Yikes. That is much lower than what I gained with Ryan.

Only another 10 days until my u/s! I'm getting very excited!

Boy, it was a boring week! LOL We'll see what next week brings!

17 weeks

I don't know how these weeks seem to get away from me. I seem to keep posting a day late!! oh well! Better late than never!

Not a whole lot new this week. I'm completely in maternity clothes...I'm not even bothering trying any of my regular clothes. I might as well get some use out of my summer maternity things while I can since soon it will be too cold to wear them.

My pain is gone. I have actually felt great this past week! I even went out and got my hair cut, went out for lunch, went shopping...so things are good.

I bought my first "real" item for baby this week...diapers!! Can never have too many of those! Pampers were on sale so I got those, plus I had a coupon! Bargain shopper! I got the Newborn size....I'm not use to seeing such small diapers anymore! they are just so cute! They are sitting on my dresser right now, just waiting for the nursery to be ready.

We also started work on the nursery this week. Tore out the panaling and the dry wall. The guy came last night to do an estimate and will get back to us today. Can't wait for it to be done!

I gained 2 pounds this week!! yikes! I've barely gained anything this whole pregnancy and then gained 2 pounds in one week! Guess I gotta watch how much I eat at Olive Garden's all you can eat Soup, Salad, and Breadsticks!! Guess I ate one too many breadsticks! LOL It was soooooo worth it though! Love those cravings! haha

I scheduled my BIG u/s!!! It's Sept 25!!! I can't wait to find out the gender!! Send me some PINK vibes!!! I'm really hoping for a girl this time!! (though you know I'd be happy with a boy too.....but I really want my girl!)

I FINALLY look pregnant now rather than just "fat". Last night at AWANA I actually got a "Are you pregnant?" question instead of strange looks! (of course, while I was eating a chocolate chip cookie none-the-less).

All is great!! I can't believe how fast this is going. I'm trying to savor every moment.....you don't just struggle over 2 years to get pregnant and then want it to be over! It's going too fast! Though this pg is different in that with Ryan I just wanted to stay pg. This time I'm enjoying being pg, but I can't wait to meet this little one!

16 week appt!

Things are looking great! My weight is still the same as last appt, but she didn't mention anything. I was so worried I would gain more with this pg but I've actually gained less this time than I did with Ryan. And I eat when I'm hungry.

My blood pressure is good and all is fine with the urine. (she did tell me to drink more water...but really, how much water can you really drink before 9am?). Baby's h/b was 157! Still the most beautiful sound EVER! My belly is a good size and said baby seems to be growing just fine.

I had the triple screen taken today and she gave me the ok to schedule the big u/s!! She told me though to make sure I schedule it for 2-4 weeks from now though...they like to do it between 18-20 weeks, and she told me if I wanted to know the gender to schedule it closer to 20 weeks since it's easier when they are bigger.

I asked about the pain I was having and she checked my stomach and said it's most likely a pulled muscle or sore muscle. She said it's well above baby and usually a pain like that has to do with the muscle. She told me to limit how much activity I do...nothing strenuous and no heavy lifting. Otherwise all is good!! I go back in 4 weeks and also have my big u/s! This pg is going so fast!
